First Real Vacation

The first real vacation that my wife and I took goes back 20 plus years. I had signed up for a program where you paid so much per month and at the end of the year you were entitled to a weeks stay at one of several locations.  Well the the year went by and it appeared that the company was not going to be around much longer. So we quickly made our reservation for Cancun, Mexico.

Our flight  had an overnight stop at DFW. ( Dallas- Fort Worth). This turned out to be great. At the time we lived in Stockton, California. While driving to the airport in Sacramento we realized we had left our passports on the kitchen table. Had we gone back to get them we would have missed out flight. So we called a good friend who went to our house, collected our passports and drove them up to the airport.  The airline put them on the next flight for DFW and we picked them up late that evening. ( Back then the airline did this for free; today I'm sure there would be some sort of charge.)

The next Morning we flew on to Cancun.
